Food Establishment Permit Extension

Food Establishment Permit Extension

In an effort to help relieve some of the hardship experienced by Livingston County food establishments as they bear the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent orders to shelter-in-place, the Livingston County Health Department (LCHD) is extending soon-to-expire food permits.  For Livingston County food establishments, any Food Establishment Permit that expires in April or May, 2020, will be extended through June, 2020. For questions or more information, please call Donnie Simmons, Environmental Health Director, at the Livingston County Health Department at 815-844-7174 x252 or by email at dsimmons@lchd.us.

Beginning March 16, 2020 at 9 p.m. all businesses in the State of Illinois that offer food or beverages for on-premises consumption – including restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and food halls – were ordered to suspend service for and are not to permit on-premise consumption. Such businesses are encouraged to serve food and beverages through means such as in-house delivery, third-party delivery, drive-through, and/or curbside pick-up. Establishments may also food or beverages for carry-out; however, these businesses must ensure that they have an environment where patrons maintain adequate social distancing. This order is in effect until April 30th, 2020, or until further notice.
